We create capacity building, namely in the context of local content & CSR- initiatives to ensure a facilitating work environment for female professionals in the energy sector.
Doyenne Initiative's mission is to positively impact women around the world, elevating them to an expert level in their field.
Doyenne Initiative's vision is to ignite a movement that will give rise to generations of Doyennes, invoking a significant change in opportunities for women throughout the world.
This program will elevate women through higher education and specialized development equipping them to hold the most esteemed and executive roles in their respective fields.
Doyenne has partnered with MWE since 2020 to select the role models who will influence generations to come.

ABOUT THE COURSE
The course discusses global trends in energy consumption and production, various available scenarios for potential developments in the coming decades, the availability of oil reserves, and the evolution of the oil industry. It then discusses natural gas and highlights the differences between oil and gas. It will also discuss renewable energy sources, nuclear energy, and EU energy policy.
The course aims at providing students whose main interest is in international relations a background on energy resources, technology, and economic realities to allow them to correctly interpret the political impact of current developments. It also aims at providing students, who already have a technical background in energy science or engineering, with a broad global view of energy issues that will allow them to better understand the social, economic, and political impact of their technical knowledge.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Scientific Advisor for the Master in International Energy at the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) Sciences Po, Giacomo Luciani is also Adjunct Professor at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, and Director of the Executive Master in International Oil and Gas Leadership.
The course requires no special scientific, mathematical or economic background; all key concepts are clearly and elementarily explained. It is expected that it will be of interest to undergraduate and graduate students in schools where an equivalent course is not offered (this being the case for the vast majority of schools).
Introduction to Petroleum Engineering
ABOUT THIS COURSE
In this course, you will learn such concepts as oil and gas production, reservoir energy and forces, petroleum deposit drainage, development systems, well operation techniques, and much more. Each participant in the course will develop an understanding of the field life cycle and interdisciplinary approach to petroleum field development and operation.
Throughout the course, we will address the following topical areas:
• History of oil and gas application, international petroleum reserves.
• Fundamentals of Petroleum Geology: rock cycle; oil, gas, and water deposits; oil and gas composition; oil generation; prospecting for oil and gas fields.
• Major exploration techniques, seismic methods, well testing; basics of reservoir engineering and modeling.
• Basics of well drilling and production.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about the petroleum industry is welcome to join this introductory course. More specific groups include:
• High school students planning a career, and their parents.
• Graduates holding BSc or Engineering degrees looking for further training options.
• Petroleum company employees with a non-petroleum educational background who are not involved directly in field exploration and development (finance, marketing, management, HR, etc.) but require general understanding of petroleum industry.
Energy Production and Distribution- Natural Gas
ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course will educate you on the characteristics and properties of natural gas, preparing you with the ability to summarize gas system components and new pipeline technologies. You will be enabled to grasp the key factors behind the formation of the natural gas industry and the historical use of natural gas. Ultimately, you will be able to identify gas and carbon monoxide safety procedures.
This course is for individuals considering a career in the energy field (who have a high school diploma, at minimum, and basic knowledge of mathematics), and existing energy sector employees with less than three years of experience who have not completed similar training and would benefit from a course of foundational industry concepts. The main concepts of this course will be delivered through lectures, readings, discussions, and various videos. This is the second course in the Energy Production, Distribution & Safety specialization that explores various facets of the power sector, and features a culminating project involving the creation of a roadmap to achieve a self-established, energy-related professional goal
